The Importance of Scene Selection

At Hacel, our Lighting designers use scene selection, the process of choosing the appropriate lighting design to suit a particular scene or environment. It involves considering various factors such as the purpose of the scene, the mood or atmosphere that needs to be conveyed, the size and shape of the space, and the desired visual impact.

Lighting can be layered or used to provide a general level of illumination to a space, or be more focused and used to illuminate specific areas where tasks are performed. Accent lighting is used to highlight specific features or objects in the scene, and decorative lighting is used to add visual interest and create a particular mood.

To determine the appropriate lighting for a scene, Hacels’ lighting designers consider the scene’s overall purpose and the desired emotional impact. They may also consider the colour temperature, brightness, and colour rendering index (CRI) of the luminaires, as well as the direction and angle of the light source.

Ultimately, the goal of scene selecting in lighting is to create a visually compelling and emotionally engaging environment that complements the scene’s purpose and desired mood. It takes careful planning and consideration to achieve the right lighting effect, but the results can be truly stunning. Our team of in-house lighting designers offer a complete solution by integrating our innovative products with a bespoke lighting design service.
