Hacel's Lighting Design Consultants were proud to produce the lighting scheme and lighting controls solution for the £22m Monkseaton High School.
The awe-inspiring design brings together innovation, sustainability and cost-effectiveness to create an impressive and truly unique learning environment for the school's 900 students. A host of Hacel luminaires featured throughout the project; wall lights were controlled by sensors with presence detection and daylight linking to harvest natural light from filters in the domed roof. Additional luminaires provided both ambient and accent lighting, alongside lighting in open classrooms, which were programmed with four pre-set lighting levels available from an intelligent User Control panel- resulting in a comfortable, well lit learning environment.
